Why Stewardship Planning Versus Traditional Planning
There is a serious collision between how the secular world
approaches planning and giving, and how the Bible calls us to plan and to give. The vast majority of financial and legal advisors adopt a purely secular worldview to planning. The foundation for stewardship planning, however, is grounded in a biblical worldview.
If advisors ask questions from a secular worldview, their client families will only come up with answers to the secular worldview. But, if the questions asked are from a biblical worldview, the family will come up with a completely different set of answers, which will lead them to develop a completely different kind of plan.
A stewardship planner does not replace any current advisors but would be added to the advisory team and work with all the advisors as a quarterback to get the entire team working together and on the same page in the planning process, while simultaneously serving as a stewardship coach to the family. Once the master stewardship plan has been approved by all the advisors and the family, we the stewardship planner then will oversee every aspect of the implementation of their master stewardship plan to ensure that every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed so the plan becomes fully operational.
